The Overview

I collaborated with barbara findlay on the design and production of Handwritten, a minimalist, high-end art book. Built around the concept of perception—inviting the viewer see something familiar in a completely new light—the publication is designed to let the photography lead through quiet, intentional presentation.

Image Curation & Layout

With a curated set of imagery, my role was to optimize the files and establish a compelling visual arc from cover to cover. Rather than applying a rigid template, the size and orientation of each photo dictated how it was presented on the page. The layout gives the artwork room to breathe while creating an intentional, wave-like rhythm through the book.

Pre-Press & Production

To maintain a refined, fine-art feel, we opted for a stark, minimalist black cover featuring only the title. On the production side, I set up custom print-ready files, managed technical print requirements for full black backgrounds, and coordinated the online printing, proof sample orders, and delivery timelines to guarantee high-quality execution.
